Trapezonotus ullrichi is a bug fromthe Rhyparochromidae family .

features

The bugs are 5.4 to 6.1 millimeters long. In contrast to many of the other species in the genus Trapezonotus , this species is easy to identify. It is significantly larger than the other species and the second and third segments of its antennae are broadly pale. In addition, the first link of the tarsi of the hind legs is much longer than the second and third combined.

distribution and habitat

The Mediterranean species is distributed from southern Western and Central Europe and southern Europe over the Caucasus to the Caspian region. In Germany it only occurs in the southern half. In Austria it is only proven locally in the east and by old finds. The species is rare. It colonizes dry and temperature-favored habitats. They are often found in the leaf litter on sunny forest edges, on sandy and chalky soils, but also on open grassland without woody vegetation.

Way of life

Little is known about the way of life of the species. Presumably, the life cycle is similar to that of Trapezonotus dispar .
