Trapper John, MD (German also: Chief Doctor Trapper John ) is an American hospital series that was broadcast from September 23, 1979 to September 4, 1986 in the USA on the CBS station.
A total of 151 episodes were shot in seven seasons. This series is an offshoot of the movie MASH or the television series of the same name , as the protagonist John McIntyre once served in the Korean War in MASH 4077. However, in all three cases the character was portrayed by a different actor.

Dr. John McIntyre, known as Trapper, is the chief physician at San Francisco Memorial Hospital . He once served in a field hospital during the Korean War (see MASH ), and his nickname comes from this time . His closest colleague and best friend is Dr. George Alonzo Gates, called Gonzo. With the support of numerous doctors and nurses , they have to master many dramatic, but also humorous situations.

Others
In 1989, Sat.1 was the first German TV station to broadcast the series almost completely. Only the 135th episode was missing. This episode ( The Wunderkind ) is about a doctor who is suspected of being a Nazi guilty of the deaths of several hundred people.
