Tremulous is a free computer game that combines elements of a 3D shooter with those of a strategy game . The game is based on the Quake 3 engine available in the source code and is licensed under the GNU General Public License .

content

The aim of the game is to completely wipe out the opposing team. This can only be achieved by depriving the enemy of any opportunity to spawn . If all enemy spawn points are destroyed and all remaining enemies are destroyed, the team wins.

The player can choose between two races: aliens and humans. Players from both teams can erect a total of 16 different buildings. The team's designers have to ensure that the team has the opportunity to respawn and that the base can be optimally defended.

For every question , the player receives credits as a person, so that, depending on the stage reached, they can get better equipment at the armory (armory). In contrast to aliens, humans can freely assemble their equipment. As an alien, the player receives Evolution Points (Evos) and can mutate into a higher and therefore more dangerous life form. For example, some of them are able to run, shoot or jump far on walls and ceilings.

Stages

The advancement to the next stage is called technological progress for humans and evolutionary development for aliens. The game begins for both humans and aliens in stage 1 of progress or development. To advance to the next stage, a team must have four times the number of players on the team on Frags. If a team consists of 6 players it has to get 4 * 6 = 24 kills to get to the next stage. There are 3 stages in total.

Modifications

Many modifications to the game have been developed over time. These modifications (colloquially known as mods) make the game more varied and try to create a balance between the teams of humans and aliens.
