Trendelbusch

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Trendelbusch was a residential area in the Helmstedt district ( Lower Saxony ), 1 km southeast of Runstedt . Trendelbusch was on the road from Helmstedt to Schöningen , about halfway between these two cities, and belonged to the communities of Runstedt and Neu Büddenstedt . At the end of the 1950s, it had to give way to open- cast lignite mining .

In Trendelbusch there was a sugar factory of the same name from 1857 to 1926 and a briquette factory of the same name from 1893 to 1959 . Both factories used the lignite from the neighboring mining area. On March 7, 1959, the last shift was run in the Trendelbusch briquette factory.

Trendelbusch is also the name of an open-cast mine in the Helmstedt lignite district that was in operation from 1874 to 1916 .
