Trent Harris
Trent Harris (* 1952 in Salt Lake City ) is an American director and screenwriter of several cult films and more than 200 short films.
Career
Harris 'career began after trying a television camera while working for a television station in Salt Lake City and meeting groovin ' Gary (Richard LaVon Griffith). This asked Harris his appearance at a talent show to film in Gary in women's clothing as Olivia Newton-Don (by Olivia Newton-John occurred). Harris processed this story into a trilogy , with the individual films being years apart. The first part is the original footage with Griffith. The role of groovin 'Gary in the second part of the Beaver Trilogy (after the city of Beaver , Utah ) was taken on by the then unknown Sean Penn . In 2001 he had the distribution of the film prohibited. Crispin Glover played Gary in the third part.
Harris' movie Rubin and Ed (1991) received only bad reviews and was named the worst film of the decade . Nonetheless, Rubin and Ed achieved cult film status.
"Kult [film] means that you don't make any money with it."
Harris directed Plan 10 from Outer Space (1995) to be like Ed Wood the "worst director ever," but the film received positive reviews from critics and was a financial success.
