Coordinates: 65 ° 0 ′ S , 95 ° 0 ′ E
The Tressler Bank ( English ) is a bank in the eastern Davissee off the coast of the East Antarctic Queen Marie Land . It extends from the 94th to the 96th degree of longitude east and lies at a depth of at least 102 meters.
It was discovered during the US operation Highjump (1946–1947). The crews of the USS Burton Island and the USCGC Edisto carried out depth soundings during Operation Windmill (1947–1948) . The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named them in 1958 after Willis L. Tressler (1903-1973), scientific director of the Wilkes station in the same year.
