The Trevenque [ tre'βenke ] is a 2079 m high mountain near the city of Granada .
It is located on the northwest side of the Sierra Nevada . The ascent of the Dolomitberg is possible on two routes (from the west and from the south-east) without technical aids, even if the last ascent is very steep. It can usually be climbed even in the winter months. From the summit you can see all the western three thousand meter peaks of the Sierra Nevada from Pico del Veleta ( 3396 m ) to Cerro del Caballo ( 3013 m ) when the weather is clear . Iberian ibexes can often be seen in the immediate vicinity of the mountain . Due to its popularity and its outstanding profile, the Trevenque is called in Spanish "el rey de la baja montaña" or "el rey de la media montaña" (in German about "the king of the low mountain range").
