Tribehouse

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Tribe House was a club for electronic music in Neuss . It was founded in 1994 by three partners - Bayram Avucu, Erik Ludwig and Frank Klement. The opening party took place on September 2, 1994 with Resistance D. & The Jeyênne , Pascal FEOS , Oliver Bondzio , Tom and DJ Abyss + Tales. The last closing events took place in early May 2009.

The club was known nationwide for its international DJs . Big names like Sven Väth , Tom Novy , Timo Maas , Loco Dice , Paul Cooper , WestBam , Mark Spoon and others were among the Tribehouse residents . At the Dance Music Award (German Dance Award) the Tribehouse received the award for the best club in 2004; it had already received nominations and was always in the top five.

There were two rooms: the large main hall and the lounge. In the summer nights, the entrance courtyard became another floor, where another DJ usually played music. Every year in January, the entire club was extensively redesigned, which gave rise to the so-called reopening . The club was known for its large thematic lighting concepts, working for example with illuminated Plexiglas panels and expressive light sculptures. From 1999 to the closure of the club in 2009, the Neuss-based company Heilight redesigned the entire premises every year and used increasingly sophisticated creative concepts.

Other prominent events were the Powerdays , which took place from 12:00 noon until usually 8:00 a.m. the following day.

The Tribehouse team also organizes various external events, such as For example, the Blue Lake in Ratingen, which takes place once a year with Sven Väth and other great DJs, the Mixery Cave in the Balver Höhle , and in the summer months the gravel pit (open-air events every Sunday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Clock) in Neuss. Various newspapers and magazines refer to the gravel pit as the "Ibiza on the Rhine".

The tribehouse door policy was a hotly debated scene. Great emphasis was placed on the styling and the outfit. The relatively high average age of the guests was between their mid-20s and early 30s. Both points should be taken into account when planning a visit.

On May 3rd, 2009 the last party was celebrated in the Tribehouse. After that, the location stood empty for several months.

On September 25, 2010 the club was reopened under the name "102 Club" (named after the house number).
