DJ Abyss

DJ Abyss (born February 16, 1972 in Frankfurt (Oder) ; real name Daniel Stolze ) is a German DJ .

In the 1980s, Stolze received music training in singing / electric bass and was active as a breakdancer in the hip-hop scene . In 1988 he reached the finals of the GDR championships in breakdance.

In 1991 he co-founded the first East German techno club, KamithHall, in which he played for the first time under the pseudonym "Abyss" (German: "Abyss"). In 1992 the lease was terminated and the KamithHall was converted into a Wolke Camp, where Axel Schulz , Henry Maske and other boxers were trained by Manfred Wolke for their world championship fights . From 1992 to 2004 Abyss was editor-in-chief and publisher of the Europe-wide techno and house magazine TenDance . In 1992 he founded the party concept " Space Admission " together with DJ Kid Paul , to which Paul van Dyk joined in December 1992 as a permanent DJ. Until 1998 several events with international guest DJs took place under this event name in changing locations in Berlin and Brandenburg. In 1993 he organized the " X-Mix -1 The MFS Trip". Since 1993 he has been playing regularly in the Walfisch (Club) and in 1994 he opened the Club Margin in Frankfurt (Oder), and a year later the "Marginal Frontier" in Guben. In 1995 he became a resident DJ in Berlin's Tresor and is internationally active as a DJ.

In 1998 he produced together with the Berlin producer Jay Ray under the pseudonym "Abyss vs. TR727 “several tracks for the Berlin label MFS . Abyss finished his work as a resident DJ in the Berlin Tresor (Club) and has been a regular DJ in the Matrix (Club) , Casino (Club) , Sternradio (Club) and Sage Club Berlin since 1998 . In 1999 he founded the two techno labels Strike Records and Alternate Recordings . In 2002 DJ-Sets Music released a live recording of Abyss from the Berlin Sage Club on December 21, 2001.
