Sage Club

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Sage Club is a discotheque in Berlin-Mitte that has existed since 1997. Of the music mix (rock, black music, house, trance and techno ...) that was once extended over several days of the week, only the Thursday evening with rock music and live bands has survived. On the weekends, the Berlin KitKatClub resides in the premises .

history

Entrance to the Sage Club on Köpenicker Straße

From 1991 the after- hour Technoclub Walfisch established itself in the above-ground rooms of the Heinrich-Heine-Straße underground station , which were previously run as a pub . After its closure in 1993, the black music club Boogaloo followed .

From 1997 the Sage Club was opened professionally and with an extravagant concept. At times the club was open five days a week with several dance floors. There were not only parties, but also concerts, photo shoots, exhibitions and film screenings. Thursday ( rock music / metal ), Friday ( hip-hop / black music ), Saturday ( house / electro / trance ) and Sunday after-hours ( minimal techno ) had established themselves . Until 2006, the club was one of the typical after-event locations for visitors to the Love Parade .

After 10 years of regular club operation, the desire for change arose. In 2007, the premises were offered to the Berlin KitKatClub on weekends, which was looking for a location .

Spaces

The rooms ("floors") of the club can be opened or closed individually, depending on the event.
