Trichromes (official spelling The TriChromes ) were a short-lived rock band from the Grateful Dead family.
The main founding of the band resulted from the collaboration between the dead drummer Bill Kreutzmann and the Journey guitarist Neal Schon . The singer decided on rock manager Walter Herbert (Walter James "Herbie" Herbert II), who actually managed the bands "Journey" and "The Storm", but also singer of the band "The Sy Klopps Band" under the artist name Sy Klopps had been. The second guitarist was the rather unknown Ralph Woodson, who had played for Sy Klopps before. The compilation was rounded off by the bass player Ira Walker, who u. a. worked for the band "Billy Satellite" and for the singer Eddie Money .
The band itself described their music as "adult blues rock", whereby blues rock, classic rock and pop music were combined. Fusion was jammed for live performances .
In the early days of its existence, "Trichromes" mainly played cover songs , later the band worked with Robert Hunter to write their own songs. This resulted in first an EP (“Dice with the Universe”) and later an album (“TriChromes”) in 2002, both of which were released by the 33rd Street Records label, where a. Peter Frampton and Eagles were under contract.
