The Meißner district Triebischtal is located in the inner-city district of Meißen an der Triebisch . The Triebischvorstadt district joins the river downstream . The Meissen porcelain factory is located in the north of Triebischtal .

Since 1899, a stretch of the Meissen tram led into the Triebisch valley. Despite the cessation of all passenger traffic on the tram in 1936, goods traffic to the porcelain factory continued until 1967.

Since the Triebisch flood in August 2002 , many buildings have been renovated or demolished. The main road in the Triebischtal was also completely renovated.

Triebischtal has a train station on the Borsdorf – Coswig line . It is the end point of the Dresden S-Bahn line S1 from Schöna via Dresden and Meißen.

Attractions

  • The interior of the medieval Nikolaikirche was redesigned in the 1920s as a war memorial church, the sculptures and name plaques made of Meissen porcelain are among the most impressive works of art by the porcelain manufacturer from this era. Its creator was Prof. Paul Börner (* 1888 in Meißen), who later became director of the artistic departments of painting and sculpture at the State Porcelain Manufactory.
  • The Luther Church, built in 1898–1904, replaced the Nikolaikirche, which had become too small due to the population growth during industrialization, as the home of the Evangelical Lutheran parish. It was created according to a design by the Dresden architect Woldemar Kandler and was adapted to the dwindling number of parishioners through a renovation in the 1970s.
  • The Catholic Church of St. Benno , built between 1885 and 1887, replaced the chapel in Burgstrasse 11 in the old town of Meissen, which had become too small due to the influx of Catholic workers from Silesia, Bohemia and Poland.
