Trinity Church in Großhelmsdorf

The Evangelical Trinity Church is in the Großhelmsdorf district of the Heideland community in the Saale-Holzland district in Thuringia . It belongs to the parish Königshofen in the church district Eisenberg of the Evangelical Church in Central Germany . The church, located in the middle of the green of Gottesackers , is equipped with a steeple that can be seen from afar .

history

After the old church was demolished in 1740, a new church was built in late baroque style. A major renovation took place after the fall of the Wall . The facade and the pulpit altar were painted blue and gold.

architecture

The tower is 33 meters high, its upper part is octagonal. In 1976 the tower got its present appearance. The nave has two-storey galleries and a stucco-framed ceiling . The pulpit altar with its pilasters and carvings has been in the nave since 1761.

organ

The organ built by Christoph Dünger from Großbrembach with one manual and eight registers is considered to be late baroque.
