Trochu is a town in the Canadian province of Alberta in Kneehill County and is located about 80 km southeast of Red Deer . The village can be reached from Alberta Highway 21 , Alberta Highway 27 and Alberta Highway 585 . Trochu has 1113 inhabitants (as of 2009).
The village has 450 households. In 2006 the population was 1005 inhabitants, which meant a decrease of 2.7 percent compared to 2001. Trochu covers an area of 2.82 km², the population density is 394.7 / km².
The area is dominated by agriculture, and the oil and gas industry is also significant .
