history

In 1951 the brothers Friedrich and Heinrich Trox founded a company for the production of air diffusers, Gebrüder Trox GmbH . Production began on Heinrich's private property on 110 m². Just two years after it was founded, Heinrich Trox took over his brother's shares in the company and became the sole owner . The TS series ventilation grille was the first product they brought onto the market in 1951. Today TROX holds property rights to more than 450 in-house developments across all product areas. In 1954 TROX already had 75 employees and construction of the production facility and administration in Neukirchen-Vluyn began. Heinrich's sons Heinz and Klaus Trox joined the company in 1960. In the same year, the establishment of its own research and development center for acoustics , fire protection , filter technology and flow technology began.

The first subsidiaries abroad were founded in the 1960s. In 1968 Heinrich Trox, who died two years later, appointed his sons Heinz and Klaus as managing directors. In the 1970s, the company achieved market leadership in Europe. In addition, the product range was expanded in the direction of air-water systems, BUS systems and systems for laboratories.

Klaus Trox died in 1988 and since then Heinz Trox has been the main shareholder and chairman of the management until 2001. Until December 31, 2014 he was Chairman of the Supervisory Board of TROX GmbH , and since January 1, 2015 Honorary Chairman of the Supervisory Board of TROX GmbH . Heinz Trox died on October 1st, 2015 at the age of 81. In 1998 TROX took over Hesco AG in Switzerland and Hesco GmbH in Germany.

In 2000, TROX also took over FSL, Façade System Ventilation from Mannheim , thereby expanding the product range to include decentralized ventilation systems. Followed in 2005 by the acquisition of the Norwegian market leader Auranor AS . The former Gebrüder Trox GmbH has been operating as TROX GmbH since 2006 and the global group of companies calls itself the TROX GROUP . In 2011 the entry into the production and sale of ventilation and air conditioning devices (RLT) takes place and the company becomes a member of the manufacturer association RLT devices. On October 1st, 2012, TROX GmbH takes over the building fans division of TLT-Turbo GmbH in Bad Hersfeld. This has been trading under the name TROX TLT GmbH since then , and since November 2017 as TROX X-FANS GmbH.
