Trumpler 14 (also Collinder 230 ) is an open star cluster in the constellation Kiel des Schiff . It is located around 9,000 light years from the solar system in the Carina Nebula . With an age of 300,000–500,000 years it is one of the youngest clusters in the Milky Way .
It is a very massive cluster, it houses around 2000 young stars of all sizes. Among them is the super giant HD 93129A , one of the brightest stars in our galaxy. This star is around 80 times more massive than the Sun and shines two and a half million times brighter.
