Tseng Lung-Hui

Tseng Lung Hui (born April 10, 1959 in Taoyuan ) is a Taiwanese Paralympic archer.

Life

Tseng Lung-Hui was born on April 10, 1959 in Taoyuan, Republic of China (Taiwan) . Tseng Lung-Hui was a construction worker and fell from a building in 1996. He seriously injured his spine and has been paraplegic ever since. After he was initially driven by thoughts of suicide, he found access to archery through an aid organization . Li Chia-tzu became his trainer and he found new will to live.

His sporting career began in 2000. At the beginning he started in the Recurve W2 class (for archers in wheelchairs with limited arm or leg functions), from 2014 he started in the open class. He made his international debut in 2002. For the first time at the Paralympic Games, he started at the 2004 Summer Paralympics in Athens, where he finished eighth. In 2008 he was able to win the bronze medal for the first time. it was the first medal in archery for the Republic of Taiwan.

At the 2012 Summer Paralympics he was able to set a Paralympic record with 650 points in the preliminary round. He beat the previous record of his compatriot Lee Hong Gu by 14 points. In the final he defeated Ebrahim Ranjbarkivaj ( Iran ) and won his second bronze medal.

From the Para World Championship in Donaueschingen in 2015, he started in the open class. At the 2016 Paralympics in Beijing, he was 9.
