Tsugumomo ( Japanese つ ぐ も も ) is a manga by Yoshikazu Hamada that has been published since 2007. An anime series has been broadcast since April 2017, also with German subtitles on Crunchyroll .

action

Kazuya Kagami's ( 加 賀 見 一 也 ) greatest treasure is the obi of his late mother Kanaka ( 加 賀 見 奏 歌 ), which he always carries with him. One day he is attacked by a classmate on the school roof and pushed off the roof. However, his approaching fall to death is prevented by his obi, who transforms into a girl. She introduces herself as a tsukumogami (artifact spirit) Kiriha ( 桐葉 ) and informs him that his attacker is possessed by an Amasogi ( あ ま そ ぎ ). While tsukumogami objects are objects that have acquired intelligence and human form after 100 years of intense human contact, Amasogi objects are brought to life in a short time by an intense desire of their human owner, only follow this desire and finally take possession of the person himself.

From now on, Kazuya fights against Amasogi and uses Kiriha's powers, which can take any shape as an obi. Later he becomes an exorcist for the patron goddess ( ubusunagami ) of his city, Kukurihime .

publication

Yoshikazu Hamada, who previously drew the comics for replays of Shin Sword World RPG , began his first own professionally published work with Tsugumomo . Tsugumomo then switched to the print magazine Gekkan Action , which has been appearing since May 25, 2013 (issue 7/2013) as part of the opening repertoire, where it has been published since then. The chapters have also been summarized in 19 anthologies ( Tankōbon ) so far . In addition, the special volume Tsugumomo 18.5: Kōshiki Guidebook was published on March 11, 2017 .

Yoshikazu Hamada livestreams his work on the manga almost daily, originally on the video portal Ustream , today on FC2 Dōga.

In 2011, Tsugumomo was part of the opening repertoire of the manga distribution platform JManga , which sold manga not yet published in English. By the time it was discontinued in 2013, two volumes by Tsugumomo had been published.
