The 7th international tennis tournament in Zinnowitz took place from June 25th to July 2nd, 1961 in the Baltic resort of Zinnowitz .

Ion Țiriac won the men's singles against his 37-year-old compatriot Gheorghe Viziru and he was also successful in mixed alongside his compatriot Mina Ilina . Peter Fährmann reached the semi-finals in the singles. With his doubles partner Werner Rautenberg they managed to reach the final as defending champions, in which they lost to the Czechoslovakian-Polish combination Pavel Korda and Józef Orlikowski . The women's singles and doubles went to the Soviet Union through Irina Ryazanova , who had Larissa Preobrazhenskaya at her side in the doubles . Eva Johannes made it into the final, in a double together with Änne Lindner .
