The 16th international tennis tournament in Zinnowitz took place from June 28th to July 5th, 1970 in the Baltic Sea resort of Zinnowitz . Because of the bad weather, three games were played in Ahlbeck on Friday .

Hella Riede won the women's singles for the third time in a row and for the fifth time overall. In addition, she stood at the side of Werner Rautenberg for the third time in a row in the mixed final. This competition was won by the Czechoslovak duo Jana Pikorová and Milan Tajcnár . There were Soviet victories in the men's singles by Shamil Tarpishchev and in the women's doubles by Jelena Granaturowa and Rausa Islanowa . The men's doubles went to the Romanians Viorel Marcu and Ionel Sânteiu . Veronika Koch reached the final in singles as well as in doubles with Bettina Borkert . Borkert also reached the semi-finals in the individual.
