The 35th Zinnowitz International Tennis Tournament took place from June 25th to July 2nd, 1989 in the Baltic resort of Zinnowitz .
Czechoslovakia won the men's trophy with Libor Hradecký and Petr Karliček . The men's singles were won by Gunter Wehnert , who together with Ralf Lichtenfeld also reached the final in the men's doubles. The Cubans Wilfredo Henry and Tomás Rodríguez won here . Czechoslovakia also won the Women's Cup of Nations with Andrea Barochová and Markéta Nová , who also won the women's doubles. 15-year-old Romanian Irina Spîrlea won the women's singles .
