The 27th international tennis tournament in Zinnowitz took place from June 29 to July 5, 1981 in the Baltic resort of Zinnowitz .
The GDR won the Men's Cup of Nations with Thomas Emmrich and Steffen John . Emmrich then also won the men's singles. The men's doubles went to the Poles Marek Królicki and Zenon Rode . The Women's Nations Cup was won by the Soviet Union with Irina Fadejewa and Lyudmila Makarowa , who then also won the women's singles. In the women's doubles, the Hungarian defending champions Katalin Fagyas and Éva Rózsavölgyi won again .
