The 20th international tennis tournament from Zinnowitz took place from June 30th to July 7th 1974 in the Baltic resort of Zinnowitz . Because of the rain, the game was played in Ahlbeck on Saturday afternoon .

The Nations Cup was played from Sunday to Wednesday and then the single and double competitions from Thursday to Sunday. The men's team competition was won by Czechoslovakia with Jan Bedáň and Pavel Ševčík . Ševčík then also won the men's singles against defending champion Thomas Emmrich . In the women's field, the first representation of the GDR in the line-up of Brigitte Hoffmann and Veronika Koch was able to repeat its success from the previous year. The defending champion in the women's singles Jelena Grigoryevna also lost her final against the Czechoslovak Hana Hüblerová , who had eliminated Brigitte Hoffmann in the semifinals. The two double titles went to the Soviet Union, for the men by Alexander Bogomolow and Vadim Borissow and for the women to the defending champion Jelena Grigoryevna, this time alongside Natalja Tschmyrjowa against Brigitte Hoffmann and Veronika Koch.
