The 1st international tennis tournament in Zinnowitz took place from June 26th to July 3rd, 1955 in the Baltic resort of Zinnowitz .
The SV Wismut tournament, which was held internationally for the first time , included the top players from the GDR, as well as some Polish players and Werner Helmrich from Mannheim , who won the singles and men's doubles with Gerhard Strache from (East) Berlin . The GDR champion Karl-Heinz Sturm , who was defeated in the individual finals , won the mixed doubles alongside Irmgard Jacket from Hennigsdorf . Inge Wild from Berlin (East) Berlin won the women's singles against Polish runner-up Zuzanna Ryczkówna . In the semifinals, Wild had eliminated GDR champion Eva Mannschatz , who won the women's doubles with Halle's Inge Herrmann .
