Can "tuKola"

tuKola [Spanish for "your Cola"] is a Cuban cola that is produced under the brand "Ciego Montero" by the state company "Los Portales SA" in Guane (Province of Pinar del Río ).

After the revolution under Fidel Castro , the USA imposed a far-reaching economic embargo on Cuba, which also banned the import of the American brands Coca-Cola and Pepsi . As a result, the company's own Cuban cola brands "TropiCola", "tuKola" and "FiestaCola" were created. TuKola has established itself as the leading cola brand both among the Cuban population and in the tourism sector. The other brands only play a subordinate role.

tuKola is sold in cans of 355 ml and in PET bottles of 1.5 l and 2 l.

A reduced-calorie light version is also available under the name “tuKola dietética”.

In the early 1990s there was a joint venture between the TuKola umbrella brand "Ciego Montero" of the Cuban company "Los Portales SA" and the Italian company San Pellegrino. Since the takeover of the same by Nestlé Waters, TuKola, like the other "Ciego Montero" branded products, has therefore been managed by Nestlé Waters.
