The gymnastics and sports club Binzen is a sports club from Binzen in the district of Lörrach . The club offers football , table tennis and gymnastics . The club became known nationwide through the women's soccer team , which was a founding member of the Bundesliga .

history

On May 12, 1956, the association was founded in the station economy. At first only football was played. The table tennis department followed in 1971. Ten years later the gymnastics department separated from the club and became independent under the name Turnerbund Binzen .

Women's soccer

The women's football department was founded in 1971. In 1982 the team won their first title with the South Baden Cup. In the second half of the eighties , the team dominated women's football in South Baden . Between 1985 and 1990 the team became champions and cup winners five times. At the federal level, the first round was usually the end of the line. Only in the German championship in 1985 and in the DFB-Pokal 1985/86 did the team reach the quarter-finals. As the South Baden champion in 1990, TuS Binzen was a founding member of the Bundesliga, but rose immediately as the bottom of the table in the southern group. In 1994 the team signed off from the game.

There is now a new women's soccer department, whose team played in the 1st district league in 2013/14 and was promoted to the Hochrhein district league.
