The TuS Seelze (official: Turn- und Sportverein Seelze from 1919 eV ) is a sports club from Seelze in the Hanover region . The first soccer team played from 1947 to 1951 in the highest amateur league in Lower Saxony.

history

The club was created in 1945 through the merger of SV 1919 Seelze and MTV Seelze . Two years later, the Seelzer were among the founding members of the second-class state league Hanover . In 1949 TuS qualified for the newly created amateur league Lower Saxony- West. Here the team was able to hold out for two years before the Seelzer had to relegate in 1951 after a defeat in the decider against Schwarz-Weiß Varel .

Now playing in the third class amateur league 3 , the best placement was achieved in 1954 with third place. The top game against TSV Havelse saw over 3,000 spectators. At the beginning of the 1960s, they reached fifth place twice and fourth place in 1963. A year later, TuS missed the newly created Verbandsliga Süd as bottom of the table and has only played at local level since then. In 2017 the first team was relegated to the 1st district class in Hannover-Land .
