Thuken Lobsang Chökyi Nyima (* 1737 ; † 1802 , Tibetan ཐུའ ུ་ བཀྭན་ བློ་ བཟང་ ཆོས་ ཀྱི་ ཉི་ མ །; Wylie thu'u bkwan blo bzang chos kyi nyi ma ) was a Tibetan historian and clergyman of the Gelugpa - School of Tibetan Buddhism . He comes from the Dorshi community in Amdo . - He was a "Tibetan" (Zangzu) . Under the name Thuken Hutuktu , he was regarded as the third personality in this series of incarnations in the Gönlung monastery.

His work Crystal Mirror of Doctrinal Opinions | Crystal Mirror of Philosophical Teaching Systems (Grub mtha 'shel gyi me long) deals with the most important schools of India , both non-Buddhist and Buddhist , as well as the whole range of Tibetan traditions: Bon religion and Tibetan Buddhism with chapters the individual schools of Nyingma , Sakya , Kadam , Kagyu , Gelug , Zhibyed , Gcodyul and Jonang . It also describes the main Chinese traditions: Confucianism , Daoism and Buddhism as well as those of Mongolia , Khotans and Shambhalas .

He is also the author of a work on the history of the Gönlung monastery .
