The Tullu Moje Mountain is a mountain in Ethiopia .
Its young pumice stone cone has a crater with a diameter of 700 m. It is in the middle of one of the most active parts of the great African rift valley . A large lava flow erupted from a nearby rift about two centuries ago. Further cracks had also created lava flows around 1900. These are also responsible for the prehistoric eruptions. The north side of the cone is covered with obsidian .
546,291 people live within a radius of 30 km from the volcano.
