history

Trebbinchen was first mentioned in a document in 1489. At that time the place name was Trebinichen , which comes from Sorbian and is either derived from the personal name Treba or denotes a settlement created by clearing . The ending -inchen indicates the small settlement area. According to the topographical-statistical overview of the Frankfurt administrative district , there were eleven residential buildings in Trebbinchen in 1844, in which 69 people lived. The village was parish after Bornsdorf.

As a result of the Congress of Vienna in 1815, the entire Lower Lusatia came to the Kingdom of Prussia . There the community Trebbinchen was in the district of Luckau in the administrative district of Frankfurt . On January 1, 1926, Trebbinchen was incorporated into Bornsdorf . When the district was newly formed in the GDR on July 25, 1952, the village became part of the Luckau district in the Cottbus district . After the reunification , Trebbinchen was initially in the Brandenburg district of Luckau, after the district reform in December 1993, the village became part of the Dahme-Spreewald district . On December 31, 1997, Bornsdorf and its district Trebbinchen merged with the municipality of Weißack to form the new municipality of Berstequell . This was dissolved in December 2001 and its districts were incorporated into the municipality of Heideblick . Trebbinchen was then downgraded from a local to a municipality part.
