geography
Neighboring areas
The district of Luckau bordered clockwise in the north, beginning with the districts of Zossen , Lübben , Calau , Finsterwalde , Herzberg , Jüterbog and Luckenwalde .
history
The district emerged from the Prussian district of Luckau . The law on changes to improve the district and community boundaries of April 28, 1950 (compare district reforms in the GDR ) changed the boundaries of the district:
- ten communities came to the district of Lübben ,
- a community came to the district of Senftenberg .
For this, the Luckau district received:
- three municipalities from the Luckenwalde district ,
- a municipality from the district of Teltow as well
- six municipalities from the Senftenberg district .
During the second district reform, which came into force on July 25, 1952, the Finsterwalde district was rebuilt from parts of the previous Luckau district. In addition, the community of Groß Ziescht fell to the district of Zossen .
The remaining territory remained stable until the end of the GDR as the Luckau district, and Luckau district from May 17, 1990.
After reunification
On December 6, 1993, the three districts of Königs Wusterhausen , Luckau and Lübben were merged as part of the Brandenburg district reform to form the district of Dahme-Spreewald , based in Lübben (Spreewald) .
