Alteno ( Rudow in Lower Sorbian ) is part of the municipality of Duben , a district of the city of Luckau in the Dahme-Spreewald district in Brandenburg .

location

Alteno is located in Lower Lusatia about ten kilometers east of Luckau and 14 kilometers west of Lübbenau . Surrounding villages are Duben in the north, Terpt in the northeast, the districts of Groß Radden in the east and Hindenberg in the southeast, Willmersdorf-Stöbritz in the south, Cahnsdorf in the southwest, Karche-Zaacko in the west and Freiimfelde in the northwest.

Alteno is about four kilometers south of the federal highway 89 to Lübben . The state road 526 to Lübbenau runs about two kilometers south of the village.

history

Alteno was first mentioned in a document in 1397 as "Altinow". With this certificate Johannes von Biberstein enfeoffed the Luckau citizen Hans Pazerin with the village Alto with all rights. In 1487 the place was called "Altenow". The place name means something like "Allzunah", meaning the proximity to another place. This place name was very common in the Middle Ages . The place belonged to the Reichwalde rule at the beginning of the 15th century . On April 26, 1414, the owner at the time, Johann von Bieberstein, sold the estate and the villages belonging to it to the city of Luckau.

After the agreements of the Congress of Vienna , the former Saxon Alteno came to the Kingdom of Prussia and was located in the district of Luckau in the administrative district of Frankfurt . On July 25, 1952, the community was assigned to the newly formed Luckau district in the Cottbus district . To March 15, 1973 Alteno was together with the previously separate parish also Kaden after Duben incorporated.

After the fall of the Wall , Alteno was initially in the Luckau district in Brandenburg . On May 25, 1992, Luckau was part of the municipality of Duben . After the Brandenburg district reform on December 6, 1993, Alteno finally joined the newly formed district of Dahme-Spreewald . On October 26, 2003, Alteno was incorporated in the course of the incorporation of Duben to Luckau and downgraded to a part of the municipality .

Alteno Air Base

In the vicinity of the local situation an air base was completely completed in 1938, which was used by the air force of the Wehrmacht . From October 1944, Jagdgeschwader 4 was stationed there, followed by Jagdgeschwader 301 from January to February 1945 . The field was then used by the Schlachtgeschwader 77 until April 1945 .

After the end of the Second World War , the airfield was initially unused until it was taken over by the air forces of the National People's Army . After the renovation work in 1967 he was appointed as decentralization airfield of the fighter squadron 1 used. Since 1990 there has been no more flight operations at the airfield. Until 2009 it was carried out for motorsport events of the MZA Luckau. At the beginning of 2012, Wirsol Solar AG installed a photovoltaic open-air system with a peak output of 21 MWp on part of the runway .
