history

The first documentary mentions for plaice are on 19/25. April 1299 as "Schollin", for Zaacko on July 3, 1348 as "Zackow" and for Karche with the date August 11, 1452 as "Karchaw", then in 1527 as "Karcho". Schollen comes from the Sorbian language and means either "settlement of a man named Skola" or "settlement on piles supported", the place name Zaakow means "settlement of a man with the name Tschack" and Karche means "settlement of a man with the name Korch".

From 1815 the villages were assigned to the newly created Frankfurt administrative district in the Brandenburg province and from 1816 they were part of the newly formed Luckau district .

On July 1, 1950, the previously independent community of Schollen was incorporated into Karche. Since 1952 Karche and Zaacko belonged to the Luckau district in the Cottbus district . On January 1, 1957, Karche and Zaacko merged to form the new municipality of Karche-Zaacko. On May 17, 1990, the district was renamed the Luckau district and the previous Cottbus district was dissolved as part of the reunification. From May 25, 1992, the municipality of Karche-Zaacko together with 15 other municipalities and the city of Luckau formed the newly created Luckau Office .

On December 6, 1993 the village came to the district of Dahme-Spreewald as part of the district reform in Brandenburg and on December 31, 1999 the municipality of Karche-Zaacko was incorporated into the city of Luckau together with five other places.
