Wierigsdorf is located in Lower Lusatia . Neighboring places are Gießmannsdorf in the north, Schollen in the northeast, Karche-Zaacko in the east, the city of Luckau in the southeast and south and Zieckau in the northwest. The federal highway 96 runs through the village .
history
The place Wierigsdorf was first mentioned on July 12, 1358 as Wyriksdorf .
From July 25, 1952, the community of Wierigsdorf belonged to the newly formed Luckau district in the Cottbus district . On April 14, 1966, Wierigsdorf was incorporated into the municipality of Gießmannsdorf . As part of Gießmannsdorf, Wierigsdorf belonged to the Luckau office from May 25, 1992 . In the course of the district reform in Brandenburg on December 6, 1993 , Wierigsdorf came to the new district of Dahme-Spreewald . On November 30, 1997, Wierigsdorf was separated from the municipality of Gießmannsdorf and incorporated into the city of Luckau .
