History and etymology

The place Kreblitz was first mentioned as Crawelitz on May 3, 1228 , when there was a legal dispute between the pastor Wasmundus de Crawelitz and the Bishop of Meissen in the Dobrilugk monastery . The origin of the name is difficult to interpret, on the one hand a connection to the plant chervil is established, but the place name could also come from a Slavic name. Another documentary mention as Krewelicz can be found in a loan deed dated May 16, 1417, with which the bailiff Hans von Polenz transferred the jurisdiction to the Luckau citizen Moller. Another transfer of five hooves took place in 1532 by Landvogt Graf Schlick to the Kiekb (p) usch. However, they did not hold the place long, because already in 1538 there was another transfer to a family Kuchler from Luckau. A manor was built in the western area.

Around 1700 the von Stutterheim family took over the estate. In the course of the Congress of Vienna in 1815, Lower Lusatia became Prussian , the Margraviate was dissolved and the area of Lower Lusatia, including Kreblitz, became part of the Province of Brandenburg . In 1831 there was a mill in town. However, the balance of power had changed in the meantime. On the one hand, a Stark share and a Gert share in the estate appeared. At the beginning of the 19th century, both parts had to file for bankruptcy and were reunited by the rulers of Solms-Baruth . A new school building was built between 1860 and 1870.

After the end of the Second World War , the last landowner Paarmann was expropriated and the land was given to new farmers. Since 1952 Kreblitz belonged to the Luckau district in the Cottbus district . With effect from February 23, 1953, a type I LPG was founded , which merged in 1968 with another LPG that had been founded in the meantime. From May 25, 1992 to December 30, 1999, the Kreblitz community together with 15 other communities and the city of Luckau formed the Luckau office . On December 31, 1999, Kreblitz was incorporated into the city of Luckau along with five other places .
