Bergen ( Lower Sorbian Góry ) is a district of the city of Luckau in the Dahme-Spreewald district in Brandenburg .

geography

The place is located southwest of the Spreewald in the Niederlausitz region in the south of Brandenburg, a good ten kilometers south-southeast of Luckau, 18 kilometers southwest of Lübbenau / Spreewald and 40 kilometers west of Cottbus .

Neighboring towns are Beesdau in the north, Fürstlich Drehna in the east, Crinitz in the south, and Weißack and Bornsdorf in the west.

history

Bergen, which presumably dates back to the establishment of a German settlement from the 13th century, is mentioned for the first time with the date May 27, 1504. At that time and until 1570 at the latest, the place was part of the Sonnenwalde dominion and came only then to Drehna.
