history

Freiimfelde was first mentioned in a document on May 26, 1613, when farmers from Alteno Frei built a sheep farm in the field north of Alteno . A residential building with a stable, barn and a well was created. At that time, 200 sheep were kept in the Freiimfelde area. In 1857 the Vorwerk Freiimfelde was first mentioned under this name.

The village of Freiimfelde initially belonged to the municipality of Alteno and later to Duben . After the Congress of Vienna , Freiimfelde, previously Saxon, came to the Kingdom of Prussia . There the village was from 1816 in the district of Luckau in the administrative district of Frankfurt . On July 25, 1952 Freiimfelde was assigned to the newly formed Luckau district in the Cottbus district . After the fall of the Wall , Freiimfelde was initially part of the municipality of Duben in the Luckau district and joined the Luckau office on May 25, 1992 . In the course of the Brandenburg district reform of December 6, 1993, the municipality of Duben and its districts were assigned to the Dahme-Spreewald district . On October 26, 2003, Duben and the Freiimfelde district were incorporated into Luckau .
