The Falkenhain district was first mentioned in documents in 1409 and Schäcksdorf in 1527. By resolution of the Congress of Vienna in 1815, Lower Lusatia, previously Saxon, and with it Drahnsdorf, Prussian and the province of Brandenburg were attached. In the 19th century, the Drahnsdorf estate belonged to the Barons von Manteuffel . At the end of 1858 Otto von Manteuffel retired here after his dismissal as Prussian Prime Minister.
