history
The current districts of the community Schwielowsee belonged to the district of Lübben (Spreewald) in the province of Brandenburg since 1816 and from 1952 to the district of Lübben in the GDR district of Cottbus (Speichrow to the district of Beeskow in the district of Frankfurt (Oder) ). Since 1993, the places have been in the Dahme-Spreewald district of Brandenburg.
The community was created in the course of the local reorganization of Brandenburg on October 26, 2003 from the merger of the previously independent communities Goyatz, Jessern, Lamsfeld-Groß Liebitz, Mochow, Ressen-Zaue and Speichrow.
The history of the municipality of Schwielochsee is thus the history of today's parts of the village and municipality. The district of Jessern was first mentioned in a document in 1470. The Goyatz district was first mentioned in 1479. It was renamed Schwieloch in 1937 and got its old name again in 1945. Guhlen was first mentioned in 1517. The district of Siegadel was first mentioned in a document in 1440; he was called Syckadel until 1937 . Lamsfeld was mentioned for the first time in 1449 and was the seat of a small aristocratic rule consisting of four to five villages in the late Middle Ages and early modern times. Groß Liebitz and Klein Liebitz were first mentioned in writing in 1429 and 1519, respectively. Mochow was first mentioned in 1420. Ressen was originally called Brießk / Brisk / Brischk in the 16th century . In the 18th century the spelling Ressen prevailed. Speicherrow was first mentioned in 1406 and was one of the three "water villages" (Speichrow, Pieskow and Niewisch ). The naming of a place called Scowe (1350) and its assignment to Zaue is uncertain. What is certain, however, is the naming of a place Czaw and its assignment to Zaue from 1421.
