In the Lieberose / Oberspreewald Office ( Lower Sorbian Office Luboraz / Górne Błota ) in the Dahme-Spreewald district of the State of Brandenburg , eight municipalities are united to carry out their administrative business. The official seat is the municipality of Straupitz (Spreewald) . The office was created in 2003 from the merger of the Lieberose and Oberspreewald offices .
Geographical location
The office is located in the east of the district of Dahme-Spreewald and borders in the north on the unofficial communities Tauche and Friedland ( district Oder-Spree ), in the east and southeast on the unofficial community Schenkendöbern ( district Spree-Neiße ), in the south on the offices of Peitz and Burg (Spreewald) , in the southwest to the unofficial city of Lübbenau , in the west to the unofficial city of Lübben (Spreewald) and the unofficial municipality of Märkische Heide .
Municipalities and districts
According to its main statute, the office is formed by eight municipalities:
- Alt Zauche-Wußwerk , Stara Niwa-Wózwjerch in Lower Sorbian , with the districts of Alt Zauche (Stara Niwa) and Wußwerk (Wozwjerch)
- Byhleguhre-Byhlen , Lower Sorbian Běła Gora-Bělin , with the districts Byhleguhre (Běła Gora) and Byhlen (Bělin)
- Jamlitz with the districts Leeskow (Łazk) and Ullersdorf (Ullerojce)
- Lieberose (town) with the districts Blasdorf (Brjazka) , Doberburg (Dobrośice) , Goschen (Chošćišća) and Trebitz (Trjebac)
- New Zauche , Nowa Niwa in Lower Sorbian , with the districts of Briesensee (Brjazyna nad jazorom) and Caminchen (Kamjenki)
- Schwielochsee , Gójacki Jazor in Lower Sorbian , with the districts Goyatz (Gojac) , Jessern (Jaserń) , Lamsfeld-Groß Liebitz (Njagluz-Wjelike Libice) (districts Groß Liebitz and Lamsfeld ), Mochow (Mochow) , Ressen-Zaue (Rjasne-Cowje) ( Districts of Ressen and Zaue ) and Speichrow (Spěcharjow)
- Spreewaldheide , in Lower Sorbian Błośańska Góla , with the districts of Butzen (Bucyn) , Laasow (Łaz) , Sacrow (Zakrjow) and Waldow (Waldow)

history
The Lieberose / Oberspreewald office was created in 2003 through the merger of the Lieberose and Oberspreewald offices formed in 1992 . The former Lieberose office had three municipalities, the Oberspreewald office had five municipalities. The last community amalgamations only became legally effective at the same time as the merger of the two offices.
The communities Byhleguhre-Byhlen, Neu Zauche and Straupitz are officially bilingual.
