The Oberspreewald office , until December 1994 the Straupitz office , was an office in the state of Brandenburg formed in 1992 , in which ten municipalities of the then Lübben district (now the Dahme-Spreewald district , Brandenburg ) had initially merged to form an administrative association. Another municipality was assigned to the office by decree of the Interior Minister of the State of Brandenburg. The seat of the official administration was in the municipality of Straupitz . The Office Oberspreewald was awarded the 2003 Office Lieberose to lieberose / oberspreewald merged. At last it had five parishes.

Geographical location

The Oberspreewald office was located in the eastern part of the Dahme-Spreewald district and bordered the Märkische Heide office in the north, the Lieberose office in the east, the Burg (Spreewald) office ( Spree-Neiße district ) and the Lübbenau office ( district Oberspreewald-Lausitz ) and in the west to the non-official city of Lübben (Spreewald) .

On September 30, 1992, the Minister of the Interior of Brandenburg gave his consent to the formation of the Straupitz Office. October 5, 1992 was determined as the date for the establishment of the office. The approval was limited to October 1, 1994. The seat of the office was in the municipality of Straupitz . At the time the office was established, the following communities were assigned to what was then the district of Lübben :

  7. Caminchen
  8. Sacrow-Waldow
  9. Knowledge
  10. Alt Zauche

In addition, the municipality of Briesensee (district of Lübben) was assigned to the Straupitz office in accordance with Section 1, Paragraph 4 of the official regulations . The time limit was lifted from September 8, 1994. On December 20, 1994, the office was named Amt Oberspreewald.

On October 26, 2003, the municipalities of Alt Zauche and Wußwerk merged to form the new municipality of Alt Zauche-Wußwerk , and the municipality of Briesensee was incorporated into the municipality of Neu Zauche. The communities Byhleguhre and Byhlen merged to form Byhleguhre-Byhlen , and the communities Butzen, Laasow, Sacrow and Waldow formed the new community Spreewaldheide . At the same time, the Oberspreewald office was merged with the Lieberose office and the four new communities (in addition to Straupitz) were assigned to the new Lieberose / Oberspreewald office.
