Sacrow-Waldow

Sacrow-Waldow was a municipality that existed from 1966 to 2003, until 1990 in the district of Lübben , from 1990 to 1993 in the district of Lübben and from 1993 in the district of Dahme-Spreewald ( Brandenburg ). It was an amalgamation of the two originally independent communities Sacrow and Waldow . In 2003 it merged with the communities of Butzen and Laasow to form the community of Spreewaldheide. The community was dissolved, and since then Sacrow and Waldow are again independent districts within the community of Spreewaldheide. Sacrow-Waldow had 203 inhabitants at the end of 2002.

Geographical location

Sacrow is only 2 km southwest of Waldow. Sacrow is about 14 km east as the crow flies to Lübben (Spreewald) . In a clockwise direction, neighboring communities of Sacro-Waldow were Klein Leine , Goyatz , Mochow , Laasow , Neu Zauche and Caminchen .

history

On December 15, 1966, the communities Sacrow and Waldow joined, at that time still in the district of Lübben belonging to the community Sacrow-Waldow. In the course of the formation of offices in the state of Brandenburg in 1992, Sacrow-Waldow formed the Straupitz office together with nine other municipalities. The Minister of the Interior of the State of Brandenburg agreed to the formation of the office, and October 5, 1992 was set as the date for the office to come about. The approval was initially limited to October 1, 1994. However, the limitation was lifted on September 8, 1994. The seat of the office was in the municipality of Straupitz . Effective December 20, 1994, the Straupitz office was renamed Oberspreewald office . In the municipal reform in the state of Brandenburg , the municipalities of Butzen, Laasow and Sacrow-Waldow were dissolved on October 26, 2003 and merged to form the municipality of Spreewaldheide. Since then, Sacrow and Waldow as well as Butzen and Laasow have been districts of the municipality of Spreewaldheide. The Office Oberspreewald was awarded the 2003 Office Lieberose to lieberose / oberspreewald merged.

Sacrow-Waldow Choral Society

The choral society Sacrow-Waldow e. Founded in 1993 is reminiscent of the former community of Sacrow-Waldow. V., who appears today at many regional events and village festivals in the Spreewald region. The repertoire includes not only Spreewald songs, folk songs and songs from all over the world, but also typical Spreewald dances in traditional costumes from the Spreewald.
