Schlepzig , in Lower Sorbian Słopišća , older also Slopice , is a municipality in the district of Dahme-Spreewald ( Brandenburg ). It belongs to the Unterspreewald office and the official settlement area of ​​the Sorbs / Wends .

history

The place was first mentioned in 1004 in a deed of donation from Heinrich II. To the monastery Nienburg . Large parts of the village and the church were destroyed by flames.

Schlepzig belonged to the district of Lübben (Spreewald) in the province of Brandenburg since 1816 and from 1952 to the district of Lübben in the GDR district of Cottbus . The community has been in the Dahme-Spreewald district in Brandenburg since 1993.

Schlepzig lies on the national road L 42 between Lübbenau and Lubben . The L 421 to Krausnick-Groß Wasserburg also runs through the municipality.
