Schlepzig , in Lower Sorbian Słopišća , older also Slopice , is a municipality in the district of Dahme-Spreewald ( Brandenburg ). It belongs to the Unterspreewald office and the official settlement area of the Sorbs / Wends .
geography
The place in the Unterspreewald is north of the city of Lübben (Spreewald) directly on the Spree .

The community includes the living areas Buschmühle, Forsthaus Buchenhain, Forsthaus Schlepzig and Petkamsberg.
history
The place was first mentioned in 1004 in a deed of donation from Heinrich II. To the monastery Nienburg . In 1769 there was a major fire after a peasant woman fell on some embers on the way from the bakery to the house and ignited the flax stored there . Large parts of the village and the church were destroyed by flames.
Schlepzig belonged to the district of Lübben (Spreewald) in the province of Brandenburg since 1816 and from 1952 to the district of Lübben in the GDR district of Cottbus . The community has been in the Dahme-Spreewald district in Brandenburg since 1993.

The coat of arms was approved on August 12, 1999 by the Ministry of the Interior of Brandenburg.
Blazon : "Under Golden Scale Shield main, front covered with a diagonally right-oblique green oak leaf and rear with a slight left sloping green paper sheet whose stems cross at the center, in blue over a bent-silver sign foot , covered in a diamond shaped knotted black net, a silver perch with open mouth. "
The coat of arms was designed by the heraldist Frank Diemar .

traffic
Schlepzig lies on the national road L 42 between Lübbenau and Lubben . The L 421 to Krausnick-Groß Wasserburg also runs through the municipality.
The Börnichen-Schlepzig stop was on the Falkenberg / Elster – Beeskow railway line . Passenger traffic was discontinued in 2008.
