The church was consecrated in 1782. A previous building had previously burned down in 1769. The church was built in half-timbered construction on a rectangular floor plan. On the west side of the church is the steeple clad with vertical boards. The location of the church is slightly elevated, and therefore better protected from flooding, on a sand hill, which is a bit away from the historic village center.

Inside the church, the unusual painting of the ceiling with a cloudy sky is striking. Such a painting was created in 1783 by the Lübben master painter Lehmann. In 1980 and 1981, art students painted the ceiling again with a cloudy sky based on remnants of the old painting that were still recognizable. In the church there is a pulpit altar designed in 1843 . In the predella there is a representation of the Last Supper , which comes from the previous building. At the top of the altar is an eye of God .

To the right of the altar is a copy made in 1921 by the Berlin artist Stort of a picture depicting the crucifixion of Jesus by the Dutch painter Dierick Bouts .

A brass candlestick is a gift from a local family on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the consecration of the church, which was celebrated in 1932.

In 1812 the church received its first organ . The organ in the building today dates from 1910 and was created by the organ builder Wilhelm Sauer from Frankfurt (Oder) and restored in 1996.

In 1991 the outer facade was renewed. The tower was restored in 1993 and 1994.
