Career

In his youth, Trunschke played soccer for SG Grunow in his birthplace and did an apprenticeship as a butcher . After the end of the Second World War , Grunow became Polish and Trunschke came to Goyatz am Schwielochsee as a displaced person . There he worked as a farm worker and in July 1946 became the trainer of the local Goyatzer SV . Three years later he became the trainer of the BSG Lokomotive Lübbenau. After a year Trunschke paused his trainer activity and studied at the German University for Physical Culture in Leipzig and later at the Pedagogical University in Potsdam .

After completing his studies, Trunschke was drafted into the National People's Army as a parachutist and trained for the ASG Vorwärts Cottbus army sports club . In the 1959 season he rose with the team in the second-rate GDR league . In 1960 the team was able to position itself in the middle of the table, in the following year the ASG climbed to fifth place, in the 1962/63 season the team reached second place and missed promotion to the GDR league after the then valid two- Points rule around five points. From 1961 Trunschke trained the SG tractor Laubsdorf parallel to the ASG Vorwärts Cottbus . In July 1963, Hellmut Trunschke became cabinet manager at SC Cottbus . In March 1965, he replaced the then trainer Willi Schober . His first game was lost against TSC Berlin , followed by five wins and two draws, after which SC Cottbus ended the season in second place in the table. In the 1965/66 season , the SC started with four wins in five games, but could not win any more game after that. So Trunschke left the club for the second half of the season.

In January 1966 Trunschke became the district director of the German Gymnastics and Sports Association in the Cottbus district . Later he was President of the Brandenburg Volleyball Association. As a pensioner, Hellmut Trunschke was temporarily the honorary mayor of the Goyatz community at that time and, after the incorporation, was the full-time mayor of the Schwielochsee community from 2003 to 2008 . Since May 2006 Trunschke has been an honorary citizen of the Polish community of Dąbie , from which he originally comes. Hellmut Trunschke lives in Goyatz.
