GDR soccer league 1965/66
In the 1965/66 season , 1. FC Union Berlin and BSG Wismut Gera were promoted to the GDR league .
Formation of football clubs
In order to promote the development of soccer sport in a more targeted manner, the DTSB decided in 1965 to form independent soccer clubs , for the purpose of which the soccer departments were separated from the sports clubs. With the exception of TSC Berlin , all sports club sections were excluded from this measure, whose first teams did not belong to the upper league at the time . The affected SC teams from Potsdam , Cottbus , Neubrandenburg and Dresden thus lost their previous sponsorship status as future BSG teams.
Due to these changes, there were various renaming in the leagues during the season. In the GDR league, the team names changed as follows.
previous SC membership | newly formed clubs |
---|---|
TSC Berlin | 1. FC Union Berlin (January 20, 1966) |
SC Neubrandenburg | BSG Post Neubrandenburg (April 26, 1966) |
SC Cottbus | BSG Energie Cottbus (January 31, 1966) |
SC Potsdam | BSG Motor Babelsberg (?? January 1966) |
SC unit Dresden | FSV Lokomotive Dresden (January 12, 1966) |
- ↑ On January 19, 1966, SC Neubrandenburg became the Soccer Game Association (FSV) Neubrandenburg and from it the BSG Post Neubrandenburg.
mode
The game was played in 2 seasons of 16 teams each (regional aspects). In a double round with a return game, the relay winners and relegated teams were determined.
