↑ GDR football league 1957 |
In the eighth season of the GDR league , the relegated members of the GDR league clearly dominated their 12 opponents and were able to secure immediate promotion to the upper house of GDR football. On August 23, 1957, the previous GDR league team from Motor Mitte Magdeburg was incorporated into SC Aufbau Magdeburg , but they too missed the intended promotion to the GDR league. At the end of the 1957 season, Dessau and Altenburg, two cities with traditional teams from the early years of GDR football, lost their place in the top league for a long time.
