GDR soccer league 1952/53
In the 1952/53 season , the BSG Progress Meerane won in Season 1 and the BSG Einheit Ost Leipzig in Season 2 and were promoted to the GDR Oberliga .
mode
The number of teams that started in the GDR league changed again this season : there were 13 teams per season. Several teams of the People's Police moved to other cities and from then on traded as "Dynamo". After the administrative reform in the GDR in July 1952, the regional leagues were abolished and introduced in the 14 districts and in Berlin (East) district leagues. Since only 6 promotion places were planned for the two seasons of the GDR league, there was a promotion round for the district champions.
