Playoffs

Season winner of the northern season

After the teams from Anker Wismar and Potsdam ended the season at the top with the same number of points, a playoff had to take place according to the regulations at the time to choose the season winner and thus also the league promoted team. This game won on April 14, 1951 in Stendal somewhat surprisingly, the team of the BSG Anker Wismar 2-1 against the slightly favored SG Volkspolizei Potsdam. With this, Anker Wismar was promoted to the league and at the same time qualified for the game for the league championship.

Decision game over the third relegated player

Also in the game of the two seasons for the third relegated team was the BSG unit from Wismar. The opponent was BSG Motor Nordhausen, which clearly won 7-0 against Wismar in the decider in Magdeburg.

League championship game

In the game for the league championship on May 3, 1951 in Magdeburg, the teams of Zentra Wismut Aue and Anker Wismar faced each other. In front of 12,000 spectators, the Ore Mountains secured the league championship 3-0.
