The regional soccer class Thuringia 1950/51 was the third edition of the regional soccer class Thuringia . After the introduction of the GDR league , the Thuringia state class was only third class from this season onwards. The national class was reduced to a squadron with 14 teams , the Thuringian football champions were played in the round-robin tournament . In the end, the SG Volkspolizei Weimar prevailed with four points ahead of the BSG Progress Neustadt / Orla and rose to the GDR soccer league in 1951/52 .
In the district classes had BSG Motor Breitungen and the second team of BSG Motor Gera descend. The formation of the company sports clubs was more advanced, and apart from the champions only BSG played in the national league.
